Vouchsafe

Speed through the glistening space
car auto mobile phone
as a ferocious Christmas Eve
gallops through the wireless forest
it's dubious to report from here and elsewhere
that the situation is getting
nearer, nigh, naught thought I heard

Ferocious holiday, you washed away the stinging
Ferocious holiday, you washed and hung your linen
under my trapped canopy of sighs hysterically
the fabric dried out and drank our scent.

I would embalm you in a mummified replica
expose you to the mantlepiece and lovingly exhibit
your nooks crannies clefts crevices grimace
the shallow end of the lake behind your laughter
And vouchsafe to keep you safe, under my armed wing
forces held me from the back of my neck and moved me
in the petrified alleys of faraway cities
and there, locked in and windswept
I crept clad in silver and gold
through gutters and gallows and muttered

To ward off the flashing light spirits
Hasten your step speed through the dawning path
Keep your head down and make your voice as lonely
as a match igniting frenzied cackles cigarettes
smoke wafting on the surface under the water
I wanted you to
breathe in out begrudgingly unfold
the raw familiar roar I've missed.

Ferocious holiday, I can't pronounce you
Ferocious holiday, I sped through the river
Ferocious holiday, I held my arms open and said

Oh vouchsafe you'll keep me safe
Oh vouchsafe you'll keep me safe
